Arriving at the Kotoka Airport on Tuesday, Mrs Trump was welcomed by Ghana’s First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo.
As part of her tour, Mrs Trump visited the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, popularly known as Ridge Hospital where donated a phototherapy machine.
Apart from the phototherapy machine, Mrs Trump also donated hampers and gifts to mothers and children at the Child Welfare Clinic of the Hospital.
The second leg of her tour saw the US First Lady travelling to Cape Coast visit the Castle and also pay a courtesy call on the Oguaahene, Osaberima Kwesi Atta. In Cape Coast, reports suggested, there was so much security that it led to a low turn out by the natives to see Melania.
So who were the security people guarding Melania who could have struck such deadly fear in Ghanaians so not come out to cheer such a special visitor? Well, the answer lies in these photos
In the photos, it is obvious that US First Lady's security detail was armed to the teeth as they watched out for her.
Though it is usual for visiting American leaders to come with such high-level security, Melania's guards seem to have shaken a section of Ghanaians.
While some expressed fear, many others were full of admiration.
Meanwhile, Mrs Trump has since left Malawi from where she will go to Kenya and Egypt to also promote her “Be Best” child welfare initiative. The “Be Best” initiative was launched earlier this year to focus on overall child well-being, with an emphasis on opioid addiction and online behaviour.
